Wow! Talk about a huge basket!
This sampler is one of two both stitched by Rosa Smith in 1840. Who Rosa Smith really was, we will never know. What we do know is both of her samplers offer a whimsical glimpse into the type of young girl she really was. The curiosity she demonstrated with her needle offers joy to all who stitch the reproduction.
Finished sampler measures 153W X 93H stitches.
Model stitched using Classic Colorworks, Gentle Arts and Weeks Dye Works, one strand over two, on 40-count Aged Hazelnut linen from xJuDesign Linen.
The original design contains no speciality stitches; however, Rosa Smith’s name and year stitched one over one.
