Elizabeth Ann Thompson was born January 6, 1831, on the Isle of Man. At the time of her birth her father, Captain Edward Thompson, was 39, and her mother, Amelia (Beevor) Thompson, was 38.
Elizabeth stitched her sampler when she was nine years old while her father was stationed at Middleton, Isle of Wight.
Elizabeth never married and enjoyed a life of relative ease, with a minimum of two servants listed in Census Records twenty years apart.
Throughout her later years Elizabeth lived off of the money derived from homes she owned and rented on the Isle of Man and from money she had inherited from her parents and an aunt on her father’s side. Elizabeth died in 1921.
